WHAT'S MY NEXT STEP?

The life of a disciple is one of growing to be like Christ.  We will never arrive, therefore, we continue the journey.  As Christians, the moment our faith stops growing, it begins fading.  So, to help us keep a vibrant growing faith, we keep on the journey.  First determine where you are in your faith journey:
Are you a guest or visitor?

You have come to check out the church.  You are attending for the first time or sporadically.  You may or may not have accepted Christ as your Savior.

How can you grow?
Come back.  Begin to worship regularly and participate in other ministries of the church.

Try these ways:
  • Learn about the church
  • Meet people at church
  • Ask questions about God
  • Explore how our church engages the community.
Are you a regular?

You attend worship regularly or fairly often.  You do not participate in the church beyond worship attendance.  You may or may not have made a commitment to Christ.

How can you grow?
Commit your life to Christ, engage in conversation with a maturing disciple, form friendships with others in the church, and find a way to serve in a ministry of the church.  Make a commitment to act as a member of this church.

Try these ways:
  • Connect with a spiritual mentor
  • Make a new friend from our worship service
  • ‘Test-drive’ a way of serving in the church
  • Make a commitment to serve Jesus as Lord of your life.
  • Become an official member of the church.
Are you a new Believer?

You have committed or recommitted your life to Christ.  You talk to others about your church.  You are a new Disciple - you want and need to know more about how to live in this relationship.

How can you grow?
Learn about foundational spiritual practices, begin a daily devotional time, explore Christian beliefs, connect with other disciples, give proportionately, and find a place to serve in the church.

Try these ways:
  • Join a Bible Study or Growth Group
  • Participate in a Walk to Emmaus
  • Begin to work through our Starting Point series in a group or on your own.
  • Be baptized
  • Begin a daily time with God
  • Serve in a ministry to the church or the community
  • Begin regular giving
Are you a maturing disciple?

You have been a Disciple for a while.  You talk to others about Jesus and your faith.  You know the basics of the faith, have a daily time with God, engage in some form of accountable discipleship and serve others beyond the church.

How can you grow?

Commit more of life to following God.  Make your spiritual life a priority.  Learn about spiritual practices, build relationships beyond the church to share Christ, tithe, and serve beyond the church.

Try these ways:
  • Complete our STARTING POINT series while part of a small group
  • Engage in daily spiritual practices
  • Join a Disciple Bible Study class
  • Commit to tithing to the church
  • Invite friends and neighbors to join you at church
  • Explore a variety of ways to serve in ministry
  • Commit to leading a ministry team or project in the church
