I really like answering questions and addressing issues that people are dealing with. The problem with this series is that I find that I reveal as many questions as I answer. We don't have time on Sunday morning to really talk about the issues in the depth that they need to be discussed; there is simply too much that needs to be said. So, if my message created some questions or revealed some issues for you, I encourage you to dig in and see this as a place for some personal growth to occur. Here are two resources to help you grow:
First, If you are fighting addictions, addictions that you know are not honoring to God, there is help that will feed your faith as well - Celebrate Recovery. Celebrate Recovery is a ministry sponsored by many churches in our area designed to help people with all their hurts, habits, and hang-ups. We shouldn't have any shame in them because the fact of the matter is we all have them, and sometimes we just need help getting a handle on them. Below you will see a promo video for Celebrate Recovery, and from their website you can find groups meeting within driving distance for us. Know that people at a local church are praying about starting a group in our area.
Once we get a handle on our hurts, habits, and hang-ups, we can then begin to think and act wisely. As I mentioned in my message, Andy Stanley wrote a book based on his messages on the text from this past Sunday. If you want to read and grow in your understanding and ability to exercise biblical, gospel centered wisdom, this is a good place to start.
